QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:


1. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Requires knowledge, skills and abilities to provide nursing
care for residents following established standards of practice; demonstrating effective oral and
written English communication skills; establishing and maintaining effective working
relationships; detailed maintenance of records/files/reports. Position requires full range of body
motion including handling and moving residents; physical dexterity; eye-hand coordination;
standing and walking for extended periods; corrected vision and hearing to normal range;
working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours; occasionally lifting and carrying
items weighing up to 75 pounds.
2. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
3. Experience: Prior long term care experience.
4. Certificate/Licenses: (1) PA RN license and (2) CPR certification.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Assist the Director of Nursing Services in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department, in accordance with company policy and all appropriate regulations.
  2. Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating our written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing department.
  3. Ensure that all nursing personnel are following their respective job descriptions.
  4. Participate in developing, maintaining, and periodically updating the written job descriptions for each level of nursing personnel in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
  5. Participate in the development, maintenance, and implementation of the facility's quality assurance program for the nursing department.
  6. Participate in facility surveys/inspections from regulatory agencies as requested by the administrator or director of nursing.
  7. Participate in developing, implementing, and periodically updating the resident's written discharge plan.
  8. Assist the resident and Discharge Planning
  9. Coordinator in developing the nursing portion of the resident's discharge plan.
  10. Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary.
  11. Monitor the facility's QI, QM and survey reports and provide the Director with recommendations that will be helpful in eliminating problem areas.
  12. Assist the Director in obtaining staffing information that must be posted on a daily basis.
